Identification

Ventrolaterally darkened face, frons dark along most of mid line, abdominal tergites 3 and 4 have entire or emarginate yellow to submetallic band
(Vockeroth 1992).
Length: 7.0-10.0 mm (Vockeroth 1992)
Biology
Melangyna triangulifera is univoltine (Heiss 1938). Larvae of Melangyna triangulifera feed on several species of aphids (Láska and Starý 1980).
Distribution
Alaska, Canada, South to Colorado,Virginia, and North Carolina: Europe (Vockeroth 1992).
